Earn an Associate Degree at SUNY Corning Community College

1. Adult learners eligible for Reconnect funding can earn a degree in high demand fields for free.  See the Reconnect Eligibility criteria.

1. The National Center for Education Statistics reports, "the median earnings of associate’s degree completers were 18 percent higher than the median earnings of high school completers." 

2. SUNY CCC offers programs that prepare students for in-demand jobs, e.g., in health sciences, technology, education, and human services.

3. SUNY CCC's master schedule contains many online courses, and flexible degree options including some completely online programs.

4. SUNY CCC has support for learners: academic (e.g. tutoring, faculty office hours); financial (e.g. as eligible, NYS financial aid, federal financial aid, scholarships); and social (e.g. student life activities, mental health resources).

5. SUNY CCC offers credit for prior learning. Categories of credit for prior learning include college transfer credit, military training, work experience, exams to test knowledge (i.e. CLEP, DSST), and other options.

Degree Seeking and Microcredentials will:

  • Automatically be placed into a math class based on their high school transcript
    • Students are able to take a Math Placement Test if they wish to try to place into a higher level of math

Non-Degree Seeking (Workforce Training)

  • No testing is required

Degree-Seeking

  • Students can apply for Federal Aid through the FAFSA, which will determine their eligibility
  • Once the FAFSA is complete, there will be a link that students can apply for New York State TAP 

Microcredentials

Non-Degree Seeking (Workforce Training)

Every student except Non-Degree Seeking students (Workforce) must provide proof of high school graduation or equivalency. Proof can be sent to our Admissions Office at admissions@corning-cc.edu or via mail: 1 Academic Dr. Corning, NY 14830.

  • Official High School Transcript (Must be sent directly from the High School)
  • A copy of your GED
  • Official College transcripts from any College you have attended
  • If you took any Advanced Placement (AP) courses in high school, you will need to have them sent to us from College Board

  • All Degree Seeking and Microcredential students must provide immunization records per New York State Public Health Laws (PHL)
  • Students who do not provide proof of immunizations will have a hold placed on their account preventing them from registering for classes
  • The Health Office can be reached by phone at (607) 962-9257 or email at healthoffice@corning-cc.edu 

Degree Seeking and Microcredential students:

  • You are able to register for classes on your own by logging into MyCorning, Student Resources, My Banner, Registration (Add/Drop Classes), Register for Classes
  • You can also set up an appointment with the Enrollment Advisement Center (EAC)

Non-Degree Seeking (Workforce)

  • All students are automatically charged non-resident tuition. If you are a New York State resident, you will need to submit a Certificate of Residence based on your county in order to have the out-of-state charges removed from your account.
